Hello

A Bit About Me

I am a 2024 graduate of Oregon Episcopal School that specializes in creative ceramics as well as Kiln and studio management. I will be attending Alfred University for Ceramics in the Fall of 2025

My Work

One of my favorite aspects of ceramics is its magnitude of possible creative expression. Unlike many art forms I have experienced, ceramics embraces imperfections and has taught me to embrace unpredictable outcomes. At the beginning of the creation of a piece, the clay is wet soft, and malleable. This means nothing is final. When working with the clay I feel like I am channeling all of my ideas, emotions, and thoughts into a physical piece. Each piece I make I feel is a reflection of my mind during that period. My pieces show my inner world better than I can explain it, making the process of creating my work extremely meaningful and important. Thanks for visiting - LouBird ceramics
